    Some news about the team:

As we shared last month, Teresa is leaving us
to pursue her art more actively
and we're going to miss her more than she can imagine.
Sending virtual hugs your way, my friend.

On a happier note, we have Vicki joining us
and we're thrilled about that!
Here's a little bit about her:

Hello friends!  My name is Vicki Parson and I'm so delighted to be a part of this special challenge team!  I have been a lover of critters ever since I can remember!  I've always been around animals since childhood and I truly believe that they can enrich your life for the better in so many different ways!  As a child growing up surrounded by many types of animals out in the country, I have so many fond memories!  What better way to honor all of those memories with my "animal pals" than to create and share my love of them each month!  I really enjoy spreading smiles as far as I can and this is just another way for me to share that with you!  If you'd like to see more smiles from me, please visit me on my blog - Stamped Smiles.
I look forward to sharing my critter creations with you and I can't wait to see your creations in the gallery!

It's a Cat's Life - by NanaConnie

It's a Cat's Life!  -  by NanaConnie

I have two sweet fur babies who allow me to share their home (as long as I keep their food and water dishes full and their litter box clean.)  They are both cuddly on crisp fall or cold winter nights, opting for the bed where I (try to) sleep because there's always a warm spot if only they can find the exact right spot (which means 'on top of me!')

They also follow me around the house, perhaps feeling the need to keep an eye on me, either for my protection or theirs.  I've never quite figured that out, but they do tend to be in whichever room I'm occupying at the moment, including long hours spent 'guarding' the craft room.

Above is Honey taking up residence on one of the two matching desks in the craft room.

Honey is the one who is first to detect my absence if I have left one room for another.  Generally, I get about 2 minutes before Honey comes looking for me.  Heaven forbid that I take more time than that in the bathroom.  Even taking a shower requires the attendance of one or both of the fur babies, usually with both of them perched on the closed lid of the throne, waiting for the shower water to stop running.  lol  According to their very loud complaints, it truly must be a federal crime to close the door when taking a shower.  Their presence is required!

The sound of the printer starting up
fascinates Honey and you'll find the white furball
'stalking' the paper tray, waiting for the paper to arrive.
Pawing at the sheets of paper is often required!

Molly can usually be found on the crafting table
(no matter what project might also be there),
guarding the entire room with one, penetrating glance.

If I spend too much time crafting, without taking time out to pay attention to the feline "queens," this is what I find staring at me, with an occasional frustrated "meow" thrown in for good measure!

Ah, yes, I do adore the fur babies.  :-D  -NanaConnie

Now, the September Challenge!

We're sponsored this month by Ike's Art.

Hi there – I am Ike……a nickname that I got many years ago due to my surname and, in my profession at that time, they just loved to give nicknames.  I live in Greece and have a passion for kitties.  I am a bit crazy or should I say I’m ‘zany.'   I have a very strange sense of humour and I must admit I spend a lot of time talking to myself !  Well, I get more sense out of me!  I reckon in a few years I shall be known as the “crazy cat lady.”
I am an artist and have a strange mind when it comes to creating my art.  I either go completely true to life… right down to the last hair… or I go totally surreal.  I started my Blog a few years ago and now I run my CATS ONLY Challenge Blog and IKEs WORLD CHALLENGES, too.  Although I love crafting, my real passion is drawing, and I just love making digital images.
My Blog is Ikes World and is at http://suzy-ikesworld.blogspot.com

Introducing Rambo

If you're looking for the Challenge this month, please scroll down to the next post.

Introducing Rambo
by Lynn

A short post to introduce you to our little dachshund named Rambo.  Nine years ago one of my very best friends called me to come over to her house to get my birthday present - however, my birthday was actually four months away!  Of course, I went anyway just to see what was going on.  I walked in and she was sitting there holding this tiny little guy that was about 8 or 9 weeks old. She handed him to me, said happy birthday early....... and my heart melted.   The problem was taking him home though, since Jim, my husband, had always said he would NOT allow a dog in the house; we didn't NEED a dog, and we weren't going to have one.  Ugh!  But it's rude to give back a birthday present, right?  So, I took this little guy home, named him Rambo, and fell in love.  Within about three days, Jim and Rambo were best friends and I got booted down from number one in the family to number two.  Figures!

Being from Texas, what could be more appropriate than seeing Rambo in a cowboy hat!  I will tell you this, though - that hat stayed on him for approximately 3 seconds before he ducked his head, reached up with his paw, and pulled it off.  I'm still not sure if he thought he looked silly or just didn't like anything on his head.

This last picture was taken a while back.  Now he's a little heavier and going a little gray.   He's still full of energy at 9 years old - but slowing down some too.  He and Jim are still the best of friends and, of course, we couldn't love him more.  He's family!

Donna - Vicki and Mocca #141

Vicki wrote a beautiful tribute page to her dear fur-ever friend, Mocca, who recently passed away.  Vicki's photos, layouts, and written words express the richness our pets and critters the world over give to us.
Thank you, Vicki, for sharing Mocca with us.

Cheryl - Anet - 24

I'm a real fan of Paper Nest Dolls so this was great to see. Sooo cute and with a great big ice cream (perfect for this hot weather we are having in the UK right now.) Love the pastel tones and that little lad's hair has been coloured amazingly.

Teresa - Monique #105
OMGoodness, what is not to love? The textures, images, and composition of this card (inside and out) are just the beginning of what makes it a little work of art.  I love it.
